Hello
I just purchased proxy services from foxyproxy. I like the service and would like continue after the free trial period but in this case, it is not usable. I can get to the YouTube page but it is painfully slow. A page loads about in 2 minutes... If I turn foxyproxy off and connect with ktunnel, it works well.
I checked the forums but found no answer matching my case.
I am using the proxy host xx.xx.xxx.xx and the Port number yyyyy. I run Firefox 3.0.10 on ubuntu jaunty. I am using "*" as the URL pattern.
Where am I doing wrong? Could you please help?
problem not related with foxyyproxy?
I then completely turned off foxyproxy and applied the proxy configuration system-wide (gnome-sytem-preferences-network proxy) with the login information. The same problem with youtube. Other sites work fine but youtube is the reason why i purchased the proxy services.
please help

works in windows
I tried youtube.com in foxyproxy installed on a virtual windows XP install. It works fine! The problem must then be sth related with the ubuntu configuration.
Although helping locating the problem a little better, this does not solve it as I am on ubuntu nearly 100% of the time.
By the way, in ubuntu, it is the initial loading of a new youtube video page that takes very long. Once the whole page is loaded and video starts playing, it plays fine!
anyone any ideaas?
thanks a lot for your kindly help
Dear Sir, thank you for
Dear Sir,
thank you for sharing your experience. AFAIK YouTube does not block access to it's content based on IP address. Possibly you should use our proxy service for the georestricted content and allow direct communication to YouTube. You can do so with lovely FoxyProxy patterns http://foxyproxy.mozdev.org/faq.html#patterns

I have very fast VDSL connection, but my videos are loading slow again!
I tried this fix http://fixexe.com/youtube-loading-slow-its-time-to-speed-up and it was working for couple of weeks.
Now seems to slow down a bit (again). Any suggestion what to do?
