Windows error opening local HTML file

When FoxyProxy installed on Firefox:
When Firefox is the default browser and is not already running, when you launch it by opening a local HTML file, Firefox opens along with an error dialog, "Windows cannot find . Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search." Unplug FoxyProxy from extensions repair this problem.

Test on two systems:
Windows 2000, Firefox 2.0.0.20, FoxyProxy 2.8.11.
Windows XP SP2 Pro, Firefox 2.0.0.17, FoxyProxy 2.8.9.

I'm working on a fix right now.

I wonder if this has been fixed yet. I am still getting the error in Windows Vista, Firefox 3.0.9, FoxyProxy 2.9

Did you try the registry

The error persists

I've seem the workarounds to this bug but the fact that it is still 'buggin' is suggestive that something is wrong with this otherwise excellent extension.
Any news on a final solution?

Problem

I am also having this problem and have not yet found a fix. I think it could be one of the Dll files for Firefox, because when I installed firefox 4 the problem went away.

I just installed the most recent Standard version of FP (2.21) and I use Firefox 3.6.3 with Windows 7 and I have the same problem. I tried the registery method with no success. Is there a new solution to fix this bug?

Unfortunately, there is no

Unfortunately, there is no other solution right now. This appears to be a problem with other extensions, too, not just FoxyProxy.

Extensions

I used to have this problem with FoxyProxy but it seems to have been fixed. Try disabling your other extensions to isolate the problem.

When I disable only FP,

When I disable only FP, leaving active the other extentions, the problem does't happen. When I disable everything but FP, I still got 2 windows poping up when I click on a link. So it seems that the problem comes from FP. Actually I bought my PC 2 weeks so I installed only few extentions. If it may helps, the other extentions are Downloader Helper, Xmarks, Add to Search Bar & Java Console.
