Sync proxy settings with server, like foxmarks

Hi,

I would be great if we could somehow synchronize our proxy settings with an external server, like foxmarks does for bookmarks and passwords now.

I had to get my PC reimaged at work and it was an absolute pain to get all my URLs/patterns added again. We also have to use Citrix here, when working from home, so the same settings would be in there too.

All you need to do is backup foxyproxy.xml before reimaging your computer.

When you're reinstalling

When you're reinstalling your PC, yes, it may help to backup a file, but what I want is to have the same proxy settings on different machines.

also it's always a good idea to backup your files, not just when you plan to do something but also for when Murphy's law happens because Anything that can go wrong, will—at the worst possible moment Because I do so many reformats I .7z my profile & upload it to my FTP server
I wonder if FEBE or A similar extension could serve your purpose, I remember using it with CELO for something different but I know it will backup your firefox profile (including Foxyproxy.xml) I just can't remember if you could upload it to a server. CLEO & OPIE are addons to the FEBE addon. I have yet to use OPIE but it's all made by the same guy Chuck Baker

I didn't realize you were asking to use the same settings on different machines. I thought you just wanted to backup your settings. Sorry.

Yes, you should try FEBE and CLOE and OPIE for now (there are possibly others, too).

But 1nf0c0p411 is right... the ability to share both your proxy configurations and patterns online is coming shortly. You will be able to host the patterns yourself on your own website if you lke or subscribe to public lists of patterns / proxies.
