I get the same Error

I get the same Error Messages. It works fine, as long as I only enable / disable TOR, but as soon as I want to change, uninstall, install more proxy Settings, this Error appears.

Know Issue

OK, it seems as if this is a known problem (it's listed under "Known Issues):

FoxyProxy displays settings.error.3 or
Error reading string resource or
Error writing settings file or
Error reading settings file.

But when will it be solved? Is there a workaround? i.e. delete settings file and manually add proxies again?

The workaround is described in the FAQ. I have this fixed for the next version of FoxyProxy--which is in testing right now.

workaround is not working

Subject says it all... I moved the file... doublechecked the file-path and it just won't work. Just wondering... will there be an Update in the near future? Otherwise I guess I have to switch to "Torbutton"... :-(

Hi,

Try changing extensions.foxyproxy.settings to " " (that's a single space) in Firefox's about:config. That will force FoxyProxy to look for foxyproxy.xml in Firefox's profile directory. The new version should be out any day; I am just doing more testing with it. If you like, I can email it to you and you can use that instead. It should work fine. My email address is eric dot jung at yahoo dot com.
