I need to manually activate QuickAdd function (Alt+F2) repeatedly upon every new start of Firefox. The settings to enable QuickAdd is never stored no where. I'm using Firefox 3.6.8 and Foxyproxy Standard 2.21.3.
I'm not able to reproduce this. If the patterns being added with QuickAdd aren't saved, make sure you've UNCHECKED "Temporary" in the QuickAdd pattern definition. Here's a screenshot:
I did not mean patterns not saved, what I want to point out is I need to manually Enable the QuickAdd function repeatedly. When I shut down the browser then restart, the enabled quickadd function becomes disabled - the tick is gone.
That happens when the proxy to which you've assigned QuickAdd gets disabled or is deleted. Proxies are disabled on Firefox startup if they are using a PAC file and the PAC file can't be loaded. If you want to disable that behavior, the FAQ explains how:
"When the PAC file isn't found, I don't want the proxy to be automatically disabled."
Close firefox. In foxyproxy.xml, change the new "disableOnBadPAC" attribute from its default of "true" to "false". This can be set on a per-proxy basis so you will see "disableOnBadPAC" listed more than once.
i'm having the same problem. and my proxy not using pac file but to make sure i also change "disableOnBadPAC" attribute "true" to "false" on all proxy i set but the problem still persist. the quick add and auto add fuction will disabled on it's own after awhile.
Even after following the above steps, after a few weeks the bug seems come back. Why should this setting be changed if one of the proxies is disabled, this is a global setting, it doesn't quite make sense. It should be possible to fix this bug without making your users dig through their config files manually, possibly creating more problems.
Info about the setup that I can replicate this bug on:
Windows 7 64 bit
Firefox 3.6.12
FoxyProxy 2.22.1
If you need more information I would be glad to help out. Thanks.
I've still not been able to duplicate this bug. I need to duplicate it to fix it. Can someone zip their complete Firefox profile and send it to me? Be sure to clear history, passwords, bookmarks, etc. first... but not foxyproxy.xml.
