The current URL pattern templates for "quick add" contain many templates including one to add the host automatically. The quick add feature is really useful since it makes things really easy. But adding another template would make thing even easier: one for the main domain. Let me explain:
I have selected ${4} for my current quick add definition, which is the most basic and most inclusive pattern possible under the current circumstances. But it doesn't seem to be enough in some situations. Suppose I'm on http://www.collegehumor.com/ and I find out that I need to use a proxy to access it. With my current configuration, if I press Alt+F2, *www.collegehumor.com* will automatically be added to the patterns. But what I get after the pattern is added is not a very good rendering of the page. The reason is that this site, as an example, hosts the media and the formatting of the page not on www.collegehumor.com but on another sub-domain like media.collegehumor.com. So since this site is censored/filtered altogether, the page I get simply doesn't have what I want and doesn't have any attractive formatting either.
The solution is to add another URL Pattern Template (something like ${16}) for the main domain in a way that when I press Alt+F2, *collegehumor.com* rather than *www.collegehumor.com* will be added to the patterns and thus solve some of the problems.
With many thanks for this great extension which has made life a little easier for us.
A Little Correction
The quick add definition I currently use is *${4}*.
Under the current circumstances, of course, the solution for the user is to open the patterns window and edit the pattern for each site or for the sites that need it. But I don't think this is how the author of the extension has meant "Quick Add" to be used.

Hi,
This is a good idea. It was requested here almost a year ago, but obviously I haven't gotten to it yet. I'll bump up its priority and get to it soon.
Thanks,
Eric
p.s. in the meantime, make sure you check "Prompt for editing and confirmation before adding pattern to proxy" so you can manually edit the pattern when pressing Alt-F2 instead of having to edit the pattern AFTER it's already been added to FoxyProxy.
