Potential Problem with FoxyProxy 2.8.11 and FireFox 3.0.6

I'm not sure how to go about trying to prove this, but I am finding some strange behavior with FP 2.8.11 and FF 3.0.6 when I visit Flickr. Basically, if FP is enabled (and it grabs Flickr through wildcarding), the page will not load properly about 50% of the time. I will get a blank site. Reloading always loads the page as expected.

I think this is an FP issue because if I disable FP, with all other add-ons enabled, the problem disappears.

If someone can point me in the right direction on where to get logs/config data or anything else, I'd be happy to help reduce this to a solid test case!

Hi,

This is more likely to be a problem with your proxy server. Are you able to duplicate this problem with other proxy servers? The log for FoxyProxy is on the FoxyProxy logging tab.

Eric

With the info above, I cannot recreate it

Tried to recreate the problem on a Win XP Pro SP3 with Firefox current stable release (3.0.6) Foxyproxy 2.8.11 & on ff 3.0.5 Portable on the same machine & a vista home pre. using my proxy server & a pattern of *://*.flickr.com/*
no other users on my proxy & I have all of ubuntu server 8.11's updates openssh's updates Squid's updates.

if you could hit ctrl + f2 & goto the log tab, enable logging & try again, let us know the results.
or send a copy of foxyproxy.xml so we can see the patterns

also try another proxy http://foxyproxy.mozdev.org/proxylists.html may help

Wow, hey 1nf0c0p411, thanks

Wow, hey 1nf0c0p411, thanks for testing that and for giving him advice... I really appreciate it!

Your Welcome Eric,

Your welcome Eric, unfortunately I don't know how it helps him, as what I said was what didn't cause a problem for me.
jesuitx, if you can tell me if any of that helped, or let me know some settings your using to try & access flickr.
Such as,
are you in patterns mode or use proxy "" for all urls?
what patterns are you using, if any?
anything you know about the proxy server?

(Also what system are you using, Mac OSX Windows something, A linux distro (Like Ubuntu for example) This may also help later on if more people report the problem. Esp. since FF 3.0.6 is almost a brand new update & those using the windows USB copies have had barely a day to update.)

Actually, the problem seems

Actually, the problem seems to have cleared up on its own, so I'm inclined to believe it was my proxy server misbehaving. It's pretty strange though because this had never happened before until immediately after I upgraded to FF 3.0.6.

Anyway, logging is now enabled so if it happens again I'll post here. Thanks so much for the help, both of you!

BTW, I own the proxy server so I can check anything. My client is XP SP3, and the proxy server is OpenSUSE 10.1.

well it's not unheard of,

I have squid on Ubuntu Server Edition. & it's goofed a few times my client depends on the machine, XP SP3 is my main machine for debug work as long as no one said it's another OS. I haven't really meddled on OpenSUSE too much, but I have a friend so die hard to it he wouldn't switch to anything else, even another Linux distro. maybe when you upgraded something else upgraded with a bug, then in a day the bug is patched.
that's been the problem for me & I wouldn't know if it weren't for Apt logs
