Hi,
I use Firefox , Portable edition from Portableapps.com
I recently have moved my firefox , from my PC to my laptop, since the source and destination drive letters and addresses are not the same, unfortunately, FoxyProxy has trouble with this migration, and i get an error which includes my firefox folder address on my PC (previous installation folder) and says FoxyProxy is unable to write files to that destination and will not work until such directory is availble.
I would like to ask you if you can fix this poratblity issue .
EDIT:
i myself solved the problem and i write it here for other users to help them and for Foxyproxy developers to inform them of this:
After some search , i found that when i uninstall FoxyProxy , some footprints of this extension are still seen in firefox folder, which are expectde to be useful, and yes they are , until your are going to use Portable firefox, and you are going to copy your portable firefox from one directory to another. This is where comes the Pain !
Lets explain.
"foxyproxy.xml" is remained which includes the settings of proxies and patterns used and blocked sites list which will become useful if you plan to reinstall it further and will be a help to get rid of the pain of re adjusting your site lists and proxy patterns.
but one remaining line in "prefs.ini" file will cause problem because it includes a "full path":
user_pref("extensions.foxyproxy.settings", "file:///D:/program%20files/FirefoxPortableTest%20RC2/Data/profile/foxyproxy.xml");
And if the case is migrating to another folder. I think if Foxyproxy uses a "relative path" instead of "full path", everything will become OK.
but it depends on the ability to do such a thing. and we must wait for the developers reply to this demand.
Since this is a unique extension which i like the Pattern mode proxy a lot ! i may ask developers to make it even more flexible for users to not encounter problems in such situations.
Thanks in advance for your attention, and for your nice extension.
sincerely yours,
