I've isolated a key contributor to a series of crashes and faults that occur on my machines. They appear directly associated with the FoxyProxy Video Utility.
After installing Win x64 1.4.1, the following programs and services would fault or crash:
JungleDisk Desktop
Canon MP Navigator EX 3.1 (app used to scan from my multifunction canon printer)
Canon MP870 network printer drivers
When I view the Windows Event Viewer, I see application faults with one thing in common... the FoxyProxy Video Utility DLL.
When I uninstall the FoxyProxy Video Utility, I no longer have problem with any of these three services/applications.

Hi,
We are investigating and will get back to you.

Also CrashPlan
I am also getting a clash when trying to launch a backup program called CrashPlan Desktop.
The error log points to FPServiceProvider.dll as being the problem. It is running, even though I disabled FoxyProxy in the 'Add Ons' section of Firefox and rebooted my computer.
The Uninstall program won't run, and I cannot simply move FPServiceProvider.dll to the recycle bin: I get the error message that the disk is full, locked or the program is running.
I can only find some very scary instructions here about stopping FPServiceProvider.dll in these circumstances.
Can anyone help?
Hello, It seems that you
Hello,
It seems that you need to disable and uninstall the video utility (not FoxyProxy add-on). To do so locate the utility's icon in the tray, right-click and select 'Disable' and 'Exit'. Use Add-remove software master to uninstall the utility after that.
Here is a manual how to uninstall the utility if it doesn't work using the master: http://foxyproxy.mozdev.org/proxyservice/manually_remove_foxyproxy_video...
Still struggling...
I could not find any icon for FoxyProxy Video Utility in my tray.
In my 'Start' menu, if I try either to run Foxy Proxy Video Utility, or to 'Uninstall' it, from the Foxy Proxy Video Utility folder in my 'Start' menu, I get the following error message: "The parameter is incorrect"
If I try to use regedit as desribed in the PDF document you linked me to, I cannot find any Catalog Entries containing a ProtocolName including 'FoxyProxy Service Provider' (in Protocol_Catalog9 folder).
What can I try next?
[edit: just to say, CrashPlan is still crashing and FPServiceProvider is mentioned in the error logs generated]
I would suggest to boot
I would suggest to boot Windows in Safe mode and check the registry keys again (if the video utility uninstaller fails to start).
>>I try to use regedit as desribed in the PDF document you linked me to, I cannot find any Catalog Entries containing a ProtocolName including 'FoxyProxy Service Provider' (in Protocol_Catalog9 folder).
Have you performed everything else described in the document?
Attempt in safe boot mode
I started in safe mode using the F6 key.
The Uninstall program in the folder 'LeahScape\FoxyProxy Video Utility' still did not run: an error message appeared saying it cannot run in safe mode.
I cannot delete the folder FoxyProxy Video Utility using Windows Explorer: it says 'Access is denied' to delete FPServiceProvider; also to make sure the disk is not full, write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.
With regedit, none of the Catalog Entries in Protocol_Catalog9 contain any line for 'ProtocolName' or mention of ProtocolName, and therefore none citing FPServiceProvider. I do not have a folder called Catalog_Entries64. Because no entries contain FPServiceProvider I did not delete any entries or renumber them. That is, I believe I performed everything else in the document, which -- for me -- means there was no change to the previous condition before opening regedit.
Any more ideas?
I seem to be running out of options, and I am considering erasing my computer's hard drive and reinstalling the Windows system software. Is there anything else I can try first?

Hi,
I'll try to get the developer involved directly. He usually know how to debug these problems. You might have to email him directly for more prompt support.

Ok can you run the following command from a command prompt? Click Start > Run, then type cmd and press Enter.
Type "netsh winsock show catalog > C:\Winsock.txt" (without the quotes), and press Enter. This will create a text file located at C:\Winsock.txt. Open that file and copy and paste the contents here. Based on that, I will direct you on how to proceed.

Based on what I'm seeing, it is safe to reset the catalog. You can do this by running the following command from a command prompt, then rebooting your computer:
netsh winsock reset catalog
Let me know if that fixes your problem.
Thanks,
Arley Schrock
That worked!
Thanks, Arley, and yes, that did fix my problem. I was able to launch CrashPlan, and that program is now running for the first time.
Do I need to worry about anything else that that command might have done to my settings?
