Proxies....

Well although this is a nicely desgined and coded addon for firefox, I dont believe that is is "better than torbutton" for one simple reason. Unless you have money to blow trying out proxies, there is no easy way to add proxies to this addon. The advantage to Torbutton, is that you click it once and your ip is changes, that simple. No money loss, no time lost searching for a decent proxy just to find out it wont configure with foxyproxy.
Dont get me wrong, I didnt sign up to flame foxyproxy or praise torbutton, I just got fed up not being able to get a single proxy to work with this addon. I am a college student with virtually no funds, so anything that costs is out of the question. Perhaps this can give you ideas for maybe another addon or additions to this addon. In the meantime I will have to use something a little more user friendly/cost effective.

There are thousands free

There are thousands free proxies out there that can serve anyone's needs and FoxyProxy Standard addon is a free solution to manage any proxy, not only paid ones. From my experience as a support person you don't have to be an IT pro to configure FoxyProxy, some experience required if you want to tweak FoxyProxy to achieve best performance (using sophisticated patterns etc) but people here at the forum share their patterns and solutions for free. FoxyProxy offers paid proxy service and it is up to people to decide whether it is worth to pay or not.
 
We welcome any opinion about proxy usage experience as long as it is not spam.
