Latest version disables awesomebar hits and addons tab
Fri, 12/10/2010 - 11:18 — nightwatch
Here after installing the newest version i stopped seeing the extensions i had installed and also plugins. Also, i no longer get the hits of the awesomebar as I type there.
the problem seems to rely on my configuration file from the old version that i was using in firefox 3.6. If Firefox 4 boots with foxyproxy without configuration, no problem occurs
When foxyproxy loads in Firefox 4 with my old configuration file this problem occurs, however, if foxyproxy is loaded without any previous configuration, it works just fine.
The problem relied on my old configuration file that freaked out foxyproxy. How it managed to break the awesomebar and the addons screen, is something that i still dont know
Hi
I have exactly the same problem. If I enable Foxyproxy I dont see anything in my addons screen. Its just empty.I tried also deleting old configs but it did not help aswell.
I cant even open the addons dot mozilla dot org website when foxyproxy is enabled.
Hope it will get updated soon.
I started giving Firefox 4 (Beta 7) a try today and suddenly I noticed too, that the awesome bar stopped showing me suggestions of any kind and later also had the problem, that I couldn't see the already installed addons.
Luckily I remembered that the last addon I installed was Foxyproxy so after deleting the old profile I installed Foxyproxy Standard only. Just the addon didn't seem to cause any problems but once I configured a proxy and a wildcard in the URL white list the same problems occured again.
Would love to see an update of Foxyproxy soon that fixes this, I really like the Beta of FF4 and don't feel to go back to FF 3.6, but since I often go to places with a lot of cesorship on the web I also can't live without Foxyproxy :-)
Or did any older version work under FF4 without those problems?
at this point in time, i
at this point in time, i have to disable the extension until this issue is solved.

Oh yes, and I also even couldn't open any addon site on https://addons.mozilla.org at that time in FF4.
