Found another way to get ITV, it seems the eaisest patterns on the proxy. When I tried it, only the geoip-checkers were proxied. Easier on my bandwidth,

Pattern Name: ITV Player App
URL Pattern: http://www.itv.com/_app/video/GetMediaItem.ash*

Pattern Name: ITV Player Medua
URL Pattern: http://medialocator.itv.com/*

Nice work

Nice work. If you're still having problems with ITV, please read this.

ITV Player

After trying some of these patterns, I found they either:

a) Didin't work
b) Were sending all/most the ITV content through the proxy (e.g. patterns such as http://www.itv.com/*), which is brute force and uses a lot of bandwidth on the proxy....thus slow page display.

After analysing the FoxyProxy logs I found a single file that needs to be sent through the proxy in order to get ITV player videos working. The actual video file doesn't need to come through the proxy, just the content/file used to determin if your outside the UK. This means maximum page loading and streaming speed and little load on the proxy.

Anyway, unless ITV change the filename or the way in which they detect if your inside/outside the UK, this pattern works for me:

Pattern Name: ITV Player
URL Pattern: http://www.itv.com/_app/video/GetMediaItemPlaylist*

Enjoy!

Nice work... thanks for the

New patternS

As from 11th september 2009 itv are using mercury. So will not be using medialocator. Heres the pattern you'll need:
http://mercury.itv.com*
Oh yeah theyv'e got rid of the adverts too.

To refine it a bit more,

To refine it a bit more, i've just figured out how to get the ITV player working without putting the whole of mercury.itv.com through the proxy. The pattern i use is:

http://mercury.itv.com/PlaylistService.svc

with Wildcards and Whitelist enabled.

That's it, no need for asterisks or anything else, it just needs that one address to go through the UK proxy.

Hope that helps someone!
