I would note that nowhere does it say whether or how to make the connection to the foxyproxy paid server use SSL.
This should be possible (I've done simple tunnels to accomplish it).
If it is possible, how would I turn it on - I would subscribe in 5 minutes if I could avoid the open wifi problem. I can use a paid VPN instead, but this should be simpler.
Or have you considered offering a VPN service?
