FP severs connection when Activated

I installed FP two weeks ago and followed the instructions - everything worked fine when I visited the BBC iPlayer site. This was great as I live in China - dont we love the great firewall? I watched numerous programmes without problems (though live feed wasn't available due to restrictions noted in other topics). After about two weeks, I have tried to use FP again, but whenever I enable it, my internet connection timed out and I couldnt browse. Once I disabled FP, my connection was immediately enabled again. The connection seemed to fail regardless of the site I visited - even something simple like google which I hadn't added to my pattern list. I have tried the carpet bomb approach but still nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Hi FP Team

I downloaded the free Firefox Add-On - I'm not a paid subsrciber (yet) and have not needed a username or subscription ID. I created an account this morning to pay for the FP Proxy Service and the Username is Bubba, but have not subscribed yet as it takes a few days to setup a Paypal account.

If you are not paid

If you are not paid subscriber chances are you are trying to use free open proxies. Of course these proxies are unreliable and insecure. Moreover these open proxies are very slow and die quickly. I guess the free proxy you were using is no longer available that is why you can not even connect to it.

Consider bying your private proxy here http://foxyproxy.mozdev.org/proxyservice/ You won't need to look for yet another free open proxy ten thousand times a day anymore.
