So,
I use Foxy to tunnel all my web browsing over a SSH connection when I am at work. I also use a plugin called "what's my IP" which will display my externally facing IP address in the status bar, and inform me when that IP changes.
I have Foxy set to load at startup, pre-configured to use my SSH tunnel. However, I note that when I startup FF, it attempts to go out through the local intranet first and grab my home page, but after a few seconds, Foxy kicks in and then I am OK.
I don't suppose there is some way to prevent FF from reaching out until Foxy is loaded ... ? Those first few seconds when I am non-proxied exposes my browsing to corporate data collectors. You get the idea.
Help?
Jacob
Hi Jacob, I am aware of this
Hi Jacob,
I am aware of this problem and have a fix. Can you please answer the following though?
1. Are you using a PAC file with FoxyProxy?
2. Can you post your foxyproxy.xml if possible? You can strip out sensitive URLs. If you can't post this, it's ok but please do answer question #1.
Thanks,
Eric

Thanks, Jacob. Are you able to test a beta XPI for me on your system to see if this problem goes away for you? If so, please email me at eric.jung AT yahoo.com. Unfortunately, I'm not able to reproduce this problem myself otherwise I wouldn't need someone like you to test it :)
Eric
