Hello Eric,
I use Foxyproxy 2.5.3. When l close the Firefox window, the process does not terminate, due to Foxyproxy. Starting Firefox next day, I always get this annoying question from Firefox about 'Start new session'. This is the only drawback, for the rest, it runs like a charm.
Config details:
- actually all extensions except Foxyproxy are disabled
- using Firefox - menu - file - close, the process terminates properly
- Webwasher classic serves as default connection (http://localhost:8080/proxyconf)
- Tunnelier from bitvise.com serves as socks.v5 proxy on 192.168.100.11:1080
- DNSlookup thru SOCKS proxy is enabled
- no problems with foxyproxy.xml
- I have the MS loopback adapter installed, listening on multiple IP addresses
- the system is XP.sp3, Firefox 2.0.0.12
P.S. Why not upgrade to foxyproxy 2.7.2 ? Because for all versions above 2.5.3, Firefox either won't come up at all, or hangs definitely while painting it's initial window.
Let me know if you need further info.
Thanks for your add-on.
Fredy
XP SP3? That does not exist
XP SP3? That does not exist yet unless you are running the SP3 Release Candidate.
Anyway, I don't really know what the problem is. It sounds like a corrupt Firefox profile. Can you create a new Firefox profile and try it there?
Eric
SP3 is on RTM, and it was on
SP3 is on RTM, and it was on Technet for some days, but they took it back due to prbs not relevant for home users. I have this problems since 1-2 years, and already posted a question the other day (can't remember the date). I just wanted to know if it is resolved now.
I'll create a new profile and tell you the result.
thanks, Freddy
The fact that you can't
The fact that you can't upgrade FoxyProxy really points to a corrupt Firefox profile.
