Hi,
maybe i've not yet found that... I'd like to have an option where i can configure a 'fallback to DIRECT'.
Scenario: a proxy via pac file, e.g. http://proxy.int.company.com/proxy.pac
proxy.int.company.com is only resolvable while connected to the company network, _not_ via internet
Doing this with IE or Chrome (means they are configured to use the pac file) recognizes that the FQDN isn't resolvable and in that case the browser falls back to go DIRECT instead. FF+FP though does not, i need to manually switch to my 'use direct' FP-profile.
This is especially annoying when shutting down FF with 20+ open tabs in the office and at home FP complains when started as here the pac file cannot be found and all tabs fail to load as consequence.
(plus as i like to see if there is an error in the pac i don't want to disable the error popup which comes up in that case)
Any chance to have that implemented? If i remember correctly i've read somewhere that this IE/Chrome behaviour should be the 'standard'
additional info: the addon
additional info: the addon 'switchy!' for Chrome works as expected too
but as i've to use various java things i cannot use Chrome for all my work; Chrome+Java is simply broken :-/
If the PAC file doesn't
If the PAC file doesn't load, that proxy is disabled. Depending on your configuration, that means the Default Proxy (typically configured for DIRECT) can kick in. Doesn't that work for you? If not, let me know, and I'll put what you want into FoxyProxy.

I'm using FP with various profiles which use different pac files.
All these profiles are switched via 'use proxy xyz for all URLs' and all these profiles are configured without URL pattern and 'popup for errors in pac'. The default profile is configured as 'direct connection' which i typically use when surfing from outside the office.
Shutting down while the configured profile can be used and starting again somewhere where that URL cannot be accessed from pops up the error saying so and in the log file i see a error message 'Ausname bei der Ermittlung des Proxy Hosts für: TypeError: this.sandbox is null'

Hi,
I understand the problem. I will add such an option, but it could take a while. In the meantime, you might consider FoxyProxy Plus. It allows you to switch proxies based on local IP address. So, when you are at home and have, for example, an IP address like 192.168.*.*, proxy "A" can be automatically chosen.

Unfortunately this doesn't help in my case as i need to maintain and test different pac files for our customers while my IP doesn't always change whild testing. At home i've the very same IP for other testing purposes...
Guess i need to wait :-)
