Error with PAC proxy

Hi,

Whenever I start FireFox, I get the following error:
Failed to load PAC for Proxy "XXXXXXX" Component returned failure code 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIXMLHttpRequest.send]
None of my webpages load, and when I right-click FPP in status bar, my proxy list shows up, and my preffered Proxy (based on IP address), is disabled. If I re-enable that Proxy, go back to firefox and "Reload all tabs", everything loads fine.

Any clue what might be going on here? The PAC proxy is a corporate one, and I travel a bit and they have a different PAC script for each country's office.

Thanks

Hi, It sounds like the PAC

Hi,

It sounds like the PAC file can't load the first time you start up Firefox. Are you already connected to the network and the PAC accessible when you start Firefox? Are you restarting when you switch networks or IP addresses?

Eric

Hi Eric, I thought that

Hi Eric,
I thought that might be the case, but it would even happen well after the machine was booted up, outlook started (and receiving emails) etc. I am using Vista, and I check that the Network Activity icon in the taskbar notification area has the "globe" to indicate internet accessible.
However, I did some further checking. I disabled FPP completely, and checked the "standard" Firefox network connection details. They were set to use a http proxy host from an old client I have not worked for a few months. I changed the settings in firefox to use no proxy, then re-activated FPP.
Since then (last few days) FPP has been working very smoothly using PAC script. I'll keep monitoring - I'll be at an overseas location next week, so I can check switching to a different PAC script.
Thanks,
Danny

Glad you got it working,

Glad you got it working, Danny. I'm concerned that the "standard" firefox network connection details were used at all... the only time these are used is when you disable FoxyProxy. So I look forward to your reply after you've been able to test this more.

Thanks,
Eric
