DOn't know what i'm doing

Hi, I'm Back.  First of all, thanks for the good help last time.  I live in China and last time i bought a chinese proxy server, now i know that is a stupid thing to do.  I just bought a new United States proxy.  I got the email with IP and Port number.  Now i just entered that info into a new proxy in the Foxyproxy settings manager.  Then i selected to use this proxy for all URLs. Then it asked for the password and i put it in. After i do that i can't access any websites.  Should it work just like this?
Sorry i am a beginner, hope i can get it working.

The username and password should be requested when you are trying to access a web site. If you see the auth dialog means the proxy itself is working properly and your proxy configuration is correct.
What do you mean by "can't access websites"? What kind of error did you get?
