DNS Leaking

Hello,
I'm using FoxyProxy Standard 2.22.1. I have a Socks5 proxy setup as my default and I also have the "Perform remote DNS lookups on ..." I've done the my-ip.com thing to make sure I'm using the proxy and I am. I also tried the about:config network.proxy.socks_remote_dns = true option but I'm still getting DNS leaking. I have no-script installed if that makes a difference.
I've been using wireshark to sniff my data and it seems to be DNS leaking every request. If I can get any more useful information over let me know.

Thanks,
Raul

Hello, I find this extremely

Hello,

I find this extremely difficult to believe given the amount of time I have invested in getting it right.

Setting network.proxy.socks_remote_dns = true has no effect. Only "Perform remote DNS lookups on..." is relevant.

It is possible that your SOCKS5 proxy server is refusing to do DNS lookups, although then the website shouldn't load at all.

Please post your foxyproxy.xml file. If I can reproduce it, I can fix it.

Eric

Foxyproxy.xml

So here is my config: http://inthemind.com/uploads/foxyproxy.xml
I have 2 proxy's listed. Default and Direct. The default one is the one that goes through the socks proxy, while direct is only setup for 3 specific domains. I'm running Firefox 3.6.3, and FoxyProxy Standard 2.22.1. Is there anything I can do on my end to help debug ?

Thanks, Raul

Follow up ?

Any follow up on this ?

Ah Ha!!

Actually I found the culprit! It's Google Toolbar. If I disable it i get absolutely no DNS leaking, but the second I enable it I start leaking like mad. I don't know if this is Google Toolbar not using the proxy, or if FoxyProxy needs to do something different to get Google Toolbar to work. Guess I can live without my toolbar for a while.

Thanks,
Raul
