Hi,
i use only a few proxies (one for 'default'=none, one for work, and one for uni). when i get to work and open FF, i have to wait at least 10 seconds or more for the VERY slow pop-up notifications (bottom right corner) to go away.
the notifications cover the status bar icon and i can't get to the icon to change the proxy from my default to my work proxy. all the notification is notifying me of is that it can't use the chosen proxy - well, i know that! but i can't change it until it goes away!
it's very annoying because sometimes i have clicked the notifications to see if they go away faster, but it makes it even slower or opens more notifications (this could just be the theory of relativity, as sometimes i don't pay attention to it straight away and it's not so annoying)
the one work-around i can do, which is not ideal because i always forget or am in too much a hurry - is to change the proxy immediately before i shut down FF to the proxy i know i'll need next time i open FF. of course, this only works also if i know that i'll need the other proxy, sometimes i don't.
i searched the options but couldn't find anything that looked like this option. i see a few things that might help in the xml, but i'm a novice reading that file and don't want to mess it up... but am happy to switch between 'false'/'true' in the xml if i am told which option this could be.
thanks for a great add on, though - even with my measly 3 proxies this has been awesome.
Hello, Could you please
Hello,
Could you please make a screenshot? I am not sure I understand what notification you are mentioning.
I'm guessing you're using
I'm guessing you're using PAC files. Uncheck "Notify me about proxy auto-configuration file errors" on the Proxy Settings->Proxy Details tab.

(Look under the "Notifications" heading)
If you're not using a PAC, then, please do as the previous poster asked and post a screenshot...
thanks,
eric
