change default gateway based on proxy selected

Hi,

At work I have the choice of 2 gateways which I can use on the LAN, each connected to a separate broadband line. To switch between the two I use foxyProxy to switch the proxy server, but I still have to manually change the default gateway (and optionally DNS server and subnet mask). It would be excellent if FoxyProxy had the ability to change all these settings as a group, based on the name of the proxy selected. can this be implemented in a future release, please?

Hi,

I don't think it's possible to do that within Firefox. Can you tell me how you switch your default gateway, DNS server, and subnet mask? Are you on Windows? Linux? OS/X?

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,

To switch the default gateway I go to Local area connection, Status, Properties, Internet Protocol, Properties and change the default gateway, etc (Shortest way is to right-click the LAN icon, choose status, etc) I run Windows XP SP3

There are some apps that can do this:
Free IP Switcher (http://www.eusing.com/ipswitch/free_ip_switcher.htm)
Easy Net Switch (http://www.easynetswitch.com/)

I would rather have a Firefox add-on to do this

sorry, foxyproxy won't be able to do this without writing binary, OS-specific code. That's not something I want to do.
