Hi,

I don't understand the question. What's a backup option? If you mean you want to backup your settings, then just copy foxyproxy.xml to your backup location.

I might be off but...

I think what Anonymous is trying to ask is If Proxy A quits working for a little while, instead of modifying it each time it quits can another proxy be set to "pick up the slack" so to speak. (And even if I am off a little, I was wondering if something like that can be done.)

I see. Sure, that can be done... it's called failover. Any suggestions on how to do the GUI for it?

Yea Failover, That's Much Simpler to say, I couldn't think of that word. (that's what I get for late night edits.)
Under Proxies, two proxies same patterns. First Proxy on the list is the main one Second one. Click The Move Up Button if the main one works better as a backup.

BTW, Thanks for the speedy Reply.

hm, so the order of the proxies determines which one is used if the first is down. that's genius. thanks! i've been struggling with the GUI for this for some time.

I'd really like this feature as well. I'm not sure from the last reply whether it's been implemented or not, but it doesn't seem to be working for me.

Another possible GUI for this is to add a dropdown list to the General tab of a Proxy's properties with a list of the other proxies. This would mean "whenever this proxy should be used, but can't be, use this other proxy instead". So it's not as flexible as choosing failing over pattern-by-pattern, but good enough for me and probably for most users.

Hi Scooter,

No, this hasn't yet been implemented. Thanks for the idea for the GUI.... I like it.
