All Proxy's timeout

Yesterday I got one working, this morning every proxy I try
times out.... I'm entering manually with no white list or frills
but I just can't get the damned thing working.....

FF 3.0.10 / FP Most current ver.

Proccess I'm using
CTRL+2
Add New Proxy
Proxy Details > Manual Proxy Config
Enter IP / Enter Port

And immediatly timeout as soon as I
Use proxy for all URLS? What gives?

Not to state the obvious, but how do you know your proxy server is alive?

I do know that the proxy server is live

And honestly even if it wasn't, checking through 30~
something proxies each entered and tested, you'd
think atleast ONE of those would be live. Even if I
mistakenly entered a dead one.
